Over the years, we have learned to recognize a pattern: the behavior of what we call the ‘Sweet Girls’ – girls who receive men, often for prostitution.
You see someone entering the hall, someone who doesn’t belong there, nervously looking at their screen, waiting to be let in by the guest. Half an hour later – sometimes even less – he’s gone again. And if shortly after a new visitor appears and the same scenario repeats itself, then you’ve hit the jackpot. Good chance that a couple of Sweet Girls, usually in pairs, have rented your apartment.
There are more indications. Often it involves exotic names – Spanish, Portuguese – with an address in their country of origin, but a mobile number from here. That’s an extra red flag. Sometimes they make it very clear: their mobile number is also their WhatsApp, complete with a profile picture that speaks for itself. Add one and one together, and you know what it’s all about.
In de loop der jaren hebben we een patroon leren herkennen: het gedrag van wat wij de “Lieve Meisjes” noemen – meisjes die mannen ontvangen, vaak voor prostitutie.
Je ziet iemand in de hal binnenkomen, iemand die daar niet hoort te zijn, nerveus op zijn schermpje kijkend, wachtend tot hij wordt binnengelaten door de gast. Een halfuur later – soms zelfs minder – is hij weer weg. En als kort daarna een nieuwe bezoeker opduikt en hetzelfde scenario zich herhaalt, dan heb je prijs. Grote kans dat een paar Lieve Meisjes, meestal met z’n tweeën, je appartement hebben gehuurd.
Er zijn meer aanwijzingen. Vaak gaat het om exotische namen – Spaans, Portugees – met een adres in hun land van oorsprong, maar een gsm-nummer van hier. Dat is een extra rode vlag. Soms maken ze het wel heel duidelijk: hun gsm-nummer is ook hun WhatsApp, compleet met een profielfoto die voor zich spreekt. Tel één plus één op, en je weet waar het om draait.
